BCED was founded in 2006 and have become one of the most important key organizations that provide a Business Development Services to the local business community in Babil province. BCED provided its services to more than 2000 owners of small and medium enterprises during the last three years, and today became a major source for business consultancies and advising entrepreneurs to build their business, with a commitment to support women and young people to qualify them for their role in rebuilding Iraq, in order to improve individual and social living standards:
 

BCED Objectives:

1- Provide management assistance to current and prospective SMEs business owners in Babil province.

2- Offer one-stop assistance to individuals and small businesses by providing a wide variety of information and guidance in central and easily accessible offices locations.

3- Consider the ideas of opening a business or researching the feasibility of a proposed profit-making venture.

4- Deliver up-to-date counseling, training and technical assistance in all aspects of small business management: business planning, marketing and promotion, financial analysis, accounting, record keeping, human resources, strategic planning, new market diversification, and other areas.

5- Offer special programs and economic development activities include international trade assistance, procurement assistance, venture capital formation and rural development.

6- Make special efforts to reach minority members of socially and economically disadvantaged groups, veterans, women and the disabled.

7- Provide assistance to small businesses applying for Microfinance and Bank loans.

8- Prepare a detailed data base about SMEs and business sectors activated in Babil province.

9- Forms delegations and invite and encourage SMEs to attend exhibitions, seminars and conferences in order to create direct business opportunities between Iraqi, regional and international companies.

10- Advocacy on supporting specific economical ideas, policies and issues throughout: implementing members' ideas about government procedures, making enlightenment campaigns, participating in coalitions, presenting consultations to impose influence on officials and legislators concerning any proposed legislation.
